ALLYSHIP CIRCLE

BEGINNING OCTOBER 2026

roots of this work

From 2020–2025, Alliance for a Viable Future organized six years of Indigenous Peoples’ Day programming in the Berkshires—supporting education, relationship-building, and the leadership of Indigenous partners in the region.

In 2025, as the Mohican community hosted a powerful Homecoming Powwow and other Indigenous-led initiatives continued to grow, we recognized a natural transition. As a non-Indigenous organization, our role is not to lead Indigenous programming, but to support the conditions for authentic, respectful, and long-term allyship to take root.

what’s emerging

Emerging from a felt sense of the evolving nature of the work, we are evolving our focus towards year-round programming to support and tend to the mental, emotional, physical and spiritual strength of non-Native allies, so we can show up, well-resourced, in this long-term work of allyship.

This Allyship Circle is an emerging space for local and regional community members throughout the Northeast who are committed to showing up in right relationship—with humility, care, and peacemaking in our hearts.

This work acknowledges that allyship is not straightforward. It brings up real questions, uncertainty, and vulnerability. Many of us are navigating this terrain without clear answers, and it takes courage to stay engaged. This circle exists to support this journey, so we can stay with it, together.

Through gatherings, conversation, and ceremony, we create space where participants can:

  • feel less alone in the work

  • feel safe to be honest

  • deepen relationships rooted in trust and respect

  • remember & reconnect with a source of deeper guidance and inner wisdom

We believe that when people come together in this spirit—with humility and a shared commitment to healing—the path forward becomes clearer.

We plan to have an intro Zoom Meeting in September 2026 followed by our first in-person gathering in October 2026, which will be an immersive, nature-based event, intended to kick off a yearlong journey for a committed circle of allies.

Participation in the Indigenous Allyship Circle is rooted in trust and relationship. Most invited participants have been involved in Indigenous Peoples’ Day events and programs in the past and/or have participated in the Deep Roots Fellowship.

If you have not been involved in these spaces and feel a genuine call to this work, you are welcome to reach out and ask about joining us.

We ask that interest comes with a spirit of humility, openness, and a willingness to build relationship over time. This is a relational space, and participation grows through trust, conversation, and shared commitment.
